A thermocouple is a closed loop circuit that consists of two dissimilar metal wires welded together at both ends. When a temperature difference exists between the two junctions, an electromotive force (thermal emf) develops and a thermoelectric current flows in the circuit. The emf and its polarity depend on the temperature difference and the thermal emf induced within is known beforehand for a particular thermocouple, temperature can be measured.

Resistance Temperature Detector
Generally, electrical resistance of metal varies, depending on the temperature. Platinum in particular is more linear and has a larger temperature coefficient than most other metals. This is designed to control the level in tank by using reed switches and magnet. When reed switches built in inside pipe are contacted by magnet, contact point outputs and controller can control motor or valve, and output HH/LL alarms.
